Casting call - birthday parties!

Hi friends, long time no post. I do have some exciting news coming up in the next few weeks so make sure you keep an eye on the blog for that.

But in the mean time I'm putting out a casting call for some party people! I'm looking at expanding Relic Imagery's portfolio for events and I am specifically looking for people who are having birthday parties. I'm after a 1st birthday party in particular, but also would be interested to hear from other party people - maybe a 21st, 40th or any other special birthday celebration.

*UPDATE* Places for the free shoots have been filled. Thanks to everyone who emailed me. However if you'd like Relic Imagery to cover any other event you have coming up, make sure you get in touch. It's such a great way to document special occasions without the added pressure of doing it yourself!

Ivy's cake smash!!!

I have 2 birthday party packages to give away, each valued at $300. Please email enquiries@relicimagery.com.au to show your interest.

I do have some conditions of course:
* Recipients of the packages must have an active profile on Facebook or other social networking site and be prepared to show the images and give credit to Relic Imagery
* You must be prepared to sign my standard model release form and allow Relic Imagery to use the images for marketing and promotional purposes
* Sessions are dependant on my availability
* Sessions must be held in metro Melbourne or a travel fee may apply
* Packages include 2 hours of photography and a disc of low resolution images from the shoot. Print products and high resolution images are available for purchase at the standard rate. Extra time is available at $150 per hour.

I look forward to hearing from you and photographing your special event!

Those little newborns get me every time...

... CLUCK CLUCK!! I swoon and cluck over them, admire their little chubby (or not so chubby) legs, the sounds they make when they're feeding, the amazing eye contact, the way they'll hold your finger, their little startle reflex (oh man, that's cute)... And then they cry. And I thank the Universe that I can hand them back, lol!!!

This little cherub last week was oh so adorable. I've known his parents for a very long time, but we haven't seen each other since school so it was ace to be able to catch up, chat about old days, and compare notes on our kids. Fun fun. And teeny little Jayden was such a good sport, even though he was exhausted, he still gave us some lovely smiles and eye contact and I think he enjoyed kicking back in the beanbag.

Maria and Lee, thanks SO much for allowing me to capture some shots of your family. It really was so nice to see you both again. Enjoy your preview :-D

We had a bit of trouble pinning big brother Anthony down, but we got there eventually! Have a look at those eyes... wowsers!

And I love how this shot shows a little snippet of family life - the bubba cries and all eyes just naturally go there and try to help, it's adorable:

Spring weddings...

... can be so unpredictable! Especially with Melbourne's weather... Don't get me wrong, I love our fair city, and wouldn't live anywhere else, but yes, our weather is very temperamental.

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of second shooting for Jessie at j [studios] and her new assistant Bree, and can I just say - I had a BALL! There was a lot of driving on the agenda, which would have been fine if we didn't get out to the beach for our shoot only to have to turn around and come back again because the heavens opened and we got absolutely drenched.

But nevertheless we got some awesome shots, had a ton of fun, and went home completely exhausted after a long day.

So here are some of the shots I got of the day of Chris and Kat's wedding. Jessie's photos can be found here: Jessie's blog

First up is the boss lady herself (just because she did it to me first :-p )

Big family fun...

So on the weekend I ventured just beyond my back gate to grab some shots of this awesome family as a surprise for their Mum/Nanny for her upcoming birthday. The weatherman promised me sunshine and wind... neither of which showed up until the shoot was finished (pity about the sun - VERY lucky about the wind - it was blowing a gale shortly after we finished)...

I had heaps of fun, big family shoots can often be hard work, but this one was great. Lots of willing participants, a sleepy newborn, yellow daisies.

Thanks guys, I hope you enjoy your preview!

Sunny Sunday morning...

The last preview from my weekend shoots! (Told ya I was busy!) I had a heap of fun chasing 4yo Cooper and his (almost) 1yo sister Ellie around. Cooper was the master of the cheesey grin, but we did manage to get a few natural shots of him, and I think you'll agree that he's a big spunk! And well, what can I say about Miss Ellie - what a little doll! She was such a trooper. I had a lot of fun with both kids.

Megan, enjoy your preview! I'll be in touch again soon.

The girls...

I had a wonderful afternoon with Kim and her gorgeous daughter, Sarah, yesterday. We headed to the State Park behind my house for some lovely afternoon light. We were hoping for a bit of a sunset, but it wasn't to be... Just a whole bunch of gloomy clouds. But they were both such willing models, and even though Sarah was a bit weirded out I got some stunning shots of her.

I hope you both love these photos as much as I do. Thanks so much, I really did have an awesome time.

Enjoy xox

Another newbie! Aww...

Baby Kaydee and her folks (and Nanna) are down in Melbourne for a short visit so we scheduled in a shoot before they have to head home to Central Vic. Four weeks old, so tiny and adorable. So photogenic. Perfect skin. Uh oh, did someone say clucky??

The poor little darlin had a touch of wind though so was a bit upset throughout our shoot :-( BUT that's probably a good thing for me as it brought all those memories flooding back to me and put a stop to my cluckiness quick smart, heheh. Hopefully she'll start to feel better soon and everyone can get a good night sleep.

Katrina and Andrew, congratulations on your beautiful daughter. She is a total treasure. Enjoy your preview.

Anne-Marie, it was so lovely to see you again.

Twinnies...!

Yay! My first set of twins to photograph, the gorgeous 18-months-old Ella and Keira. Oh my, they were so awesome. I had a lot of fun chasing them around and trying to get their attention, dancing to the Wiggles, throwing balls. It was a total blast. But hard work. I take my hat off to any parent of multiples, you do a fabulouso job.

Enjoy your sneak peak Caren, and travel safely home. I'll be in touch soon.

Some of my fam...

Last weekend my in-laws came over and I tried to get some nice family shots of them all, and also of the four cousins together. To say it was difficult to capture my niece and nephew is a total understatement!! Why would it be harder to take photos of the people that I love? Meh, I have no idea, it just it! But anyway, I got some goodies, and I hope to get some more great ones of the cousins while we're all away together on the weekend.

First up is Tommy, doing his Rockstar! pose.

Bebe Isaac...

Gorgeous baby Isaac was booked in for a session with me in his first week of life, but unfortunately his mum, Cedar, got quite ill and went back to hospital. But she's home now and feeling a bit better and I was so thrilled to be able to shoot some photos for her.

It took us a little while to get Isaac off to sleep, but eventually at the hands of two persistent women, he gave in! He was such an adorable little thing, hardly heard a peep out of him at all, and I had such a lovely time with him and Cedar.

Thanks so much for allowing me into your lives, and I hope you enjoy your preview. The rest of your gallery will be ready soon.

Alex & Gus in love...

On the weekend I was extremely privileged to photograph the wedding of Alex and Gus down at Point Lonsdale. Being a night wedding, there was always going to be light issues and whilst they were very difficult to overcome, we also struggled with lack of space and lack of time (sheesh!) but the B&G as well as the bridal party were so so patient with me while we figured out settings and really made my job a lot of fun.

Alex and Gus, thank you so much for including me in your special day. I wish you guys a lifetime of wonderful memories together and all the happiness in the world. You deserve it.

Enjoy your preview (and your honeymoon!) and I'll be in touch when the rest of your gallery is ready.
